Intro
Explore the realms of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization with the second installment of Valley of the Gods slot by Yggdrasil. Valley of the Gods 2 was launched in 2020 and it features an unique grid layout of 6 reels and between 3-8 lines.
The game initially starts with 240 ways to win, but that’s not the limit! If you will unlock the whole grid (we will talk more about this below), then it can even reach 20160 paylines!
Valley of Gods 2 has the RTP of 96%. The betting range starts from as much as C$0.10 and hits its cap at C$100 maximum stake per spin.
The slot will provide the player with plenty of features throughout the whole gameplay, so let’s talk more about them.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
Symbols
So, as we mentioned before Valley of the Gods 2 has 6 reels total, but not all the slots are available to the player at the start. In fact, 16 of them will be closed. The closed slots will gradually open every time you get a win. At the very beginning you will play on a standard grid of 1-2-3-4-5-2.
High quality pyramid background pairs up nicely with an exotic music that really helps to convey the atmosphere of the Ancient Egyptian civilization to the player.
Now, when it comes to game symbols, they are split between low-paying and high-paying icons. Low-value symbols include 9-A royals while high-value symbols are represented by the Egyptian Gods. Anubis, Bastet, Horus and Sobek all will bless your reels with some big wins.
Bastet will pay you out the most out of all regular icons. For 6-of-a-kind you will receive 20x your stake.
The Wild Symbol is the infamous Cleopatra. Not only will it substitute for any other symbols, but also will expand filling the entire reel and stay there until a player scores a win with it.
Features
Respins Feature
Each of the reels in Valley of Gods 2 has both open and closed slots. Every time you score a win, one of these slots gets unlocked, and the number of paylines you can play with increases as a result. We have talked about this already, but it doesn’t end there. A white Scarab will then appear on the screen and with each win, you also receive a free Respin. You can keep unlocking the slots as long as you receive consecutive wins. But in case your next spin lands you no wins, everything will reset back to 240 paylines.
If you manage to break all the slots however, you will be highly rewarded with a Scarab Collections Feature. All white scarabs on the screen will instantly be turned into yellow, red or blue scarabs. Gathering enough scarabs of the same color and filling their respective mether will activate one of the three Bonus Features we will discuss more about below.
Extra Life Feature
If you collect 5+ of the red scarabs, an Extra Life Feature will activate. The mechanism behind it is fairly simple: when you lose a Respin, you get a second chance in your attempts to continue the winning chain. What’s more, the lives can stack as well, which means you can have more than 1 extra life!
Win Multipliers Feature
This time, you need to gather the blue scarabs to trigger the bonus. For each 5 that you collect, a total win multiplier for the next respin will increase by 1. The more scarabs you manage to strike, the bigger your multiplier will become.
Wild Reel Feature
The name speaks for itself for all these features. This one isn’t an exception either! Collect 5 yellow scarabs and a Wild Reel will appear on the screen. It will stay in its place until it becomes a part of a winning combination, or until the respins will end. It is totally possible to get multiple wild reels by gathering more yellow scarabs.
